Messi gets ESPY Awards

 ESPN announced the winner of the 2015 annual ESPY Best International Athlete Award. Messi won the honor with the outstanding performance last season.


Last season, Messi’s outstanding performance helped Barcelona get the Triple Crown honors again after six years. His achievement of scoring 283 goals has exceeded Athletic Club de Bilbao’s legend Telmo Zarraonandia Montoya and officially became the top scorer in the history of La Liga.

ESPY has been known as "Sports Oscar". In this voting, Messi’s competitors are s from various sports including football player Cristiano Ronaldo, tennis player Novak Djokovic, golfer Lydia Ko and F1 driver Hamilton.

In the previous years, the winners of this award included Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, Switzerland Roger Federer and Albert Pujols in MLB team St. Louis Cardinals.
